SUM MailNotifier - Get email notifications when SUM tool is waiting for user input

Starting with SUM 1.0 SP 18, SAP has delivered a client program MailNotifierApp.jar that connects with the host agent and triggers emails when SUM is waiting for a user input.

MailNotifier has to run on a host that can connect to both SUM using HTTP(S) and SMTP mail server. This host can be your PC, Primary Application Server where SUM is running or any host that fulfills these conditions.

In order to use MailNotifier
  1. Extract SUM tool and go to SUM\ABAP\mailNotifier.
  2. Copy MailNotifierApp.jar (application) and MailNotifierApp.props (properties file) to the host which can connect to SUM and SMTP server.
  3. Update MailNotifierApp.props file with appropriate parameter values.
  4. Start MailNotifier using the following command
    5. java –jar MailNotifierApp.jar properties=<path-to-MyMailNotifierApp.props-file>
    (or)
    java –jar MailNotifierApp.jar sum.sid=SID sum.user=sidadm
  5. You will be prompted to provide passwords
  6. The tool will try to connect with SUM and send a test email.
  7. The tool keeps probing SUM (defined by check.interval parameter in property file) and sends an email when it is waiting for user input. If you already provide an input before the tool probes SUM, there will be no email sent.

Fixing Inconsistent Table - Table activation fails due to inconsistency between DD and DB

If you find a table to be available on the database, but not active in ABAP dictionary, try calling SE14 as DDIC user, enter the table name and choose Table > Reconstruct, Execute. If this method fails follow these steps: Call transaction code SE37 and execute the function module  DD_TABL_ACTM with single test On the next screen, do not change any other field except the following and set them as shown below: MODE: 12 NTAB_PUTSTATE: N TABNAME: <enter the correct table name> Click on Execute The export parameter ACT_RESULT should show 0. 301 Redirect Using SAP Web Dispatcher

301 redirects are typically used to redirect accesses that include www to non-www or vice-versa. Example, when you call http://blogger.com, the call is redirected to www.blogger.com.
